Dean is a VAT Consultant, having previously worked for HMRC in the finance specialist team of the City of London VAT Office, before moving to the private sector. Dean worked at Deloitte before helping to found Constable VAT Consultancy in 2003.

During his time with Deloitte, Dean was sector leader of the Land & Property and Corporate Finance VAT teams in their London office and acted for a number of insurance businesses and banks. Dean’s current clients range in size, from large multi-national businesses to SMEs, and his work with Constable VAT covers most business sectors. Dean is known as a pragmatic, commercially-focused problem solver. He has a particular talent for logical analysis, often seeing solutions which others have missed, that require no more than a persuasive technical argument to succeed.

Dean is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and sits on the Tax Forum of the ACCA and the Joint VAT Consultative Committee (JVCC), which gives him the opportunity to discuss matters of policy with HMRC as the ACCA’s representative on the JVCC.
